See You at the Movies!

Snowmass’ nighttime cinematic experience returns with the Movies Under the Stars outdoor film series this summer starting June 28. Taking place at dusk on most Saturdays June through August, moviegoers will enjoy a diverse range of classic films, including “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” “Moana 2,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Goonies," and "The Lion King."

All shows take place at The Rink in Snowmass Base Village (49 Wood Rd, Snowmass Village, CO)

SATURDAY, JUNE 28

Honey, i shrunk the kids

A scientist (Rick Moranis) accidentally shrinks his own children and two neighbors into the size of insects. They then must survive a perilous journey through their gigantic, hostile backyard, filled with oversized insects, a sprinkler system, and a lawnmower. The movie explores themes of family, adventure, and overcoming challenges in an unexpected, scaled-down world.

SATURDAY, July 5

moana 2

Moana embarks on a new adventure, guided by her wayfinding ancestors, as she seeks to reconnect her people with the wider world after they have been isolated for generations. She journeys to the far seas of Oceania, reuniting with Maui, and assembling a new crew of unlikely seafarers to find a mythical lost island and break a curse that has kept their islands isolated.

Ghostbusters

Tells the story of a group of parapsychologists who turn into a ghost-hunting business after being ousted from their university. They use specialized equipment like proton packs to capture and contain ghosts in New York City. initially struggling to establish their service before becoming sought-after heroes.

the goonies

An adventure film about a group of misfit kids from the "Goondocks" neighborhood in Astoria, Oregon, who discover a map to a legendary pirate's treasure and embark on a quest to save their homes from foreclosure. The face off against a ruthless criminal family, the Fratellis, who are also after the treasure.

the lion king

Tells the story of Simba, a young lion cub who must learn about his destiny as king of the Pride Lands. He is tricked by his uncle Scar, who murders Simba's father and then attempts to take the throne himself. Simba flees, grows up in exile, and eventually returns to reclaim his rightful place.

SEATING:
Reservations are not required and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended that moviegoers arrive early, save their space and enjoy all Base Village has to offer until the movie begins.
 
FOOD AND BEVERAGES:
Picnics and non-alcoholic beverages may be carried in. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from The Collective and the Limelight Hotel only, with food available for purchase at any Base Village restaurant.
