Jan Garrett Quartet

Jan Garrett is a jazz singer with a poet’s soul. She is an award winning songwriter, master music teacher, performance coach, wilderness vision quester, mother of twin daughters, and (yes) Certified Laughing Instructor who has toured with Steve Martin and John Denver, and has appeared on the Tonight Show and in Rolling Stone Magazine. Jan has been living and playing music in the Roaring Fork Valley since the early 1970’s winning audiences over with her popular band “Liberty” original songs for children’s theatre, and many memorable jazz performances with world-class pianist Dave Schappert. For the past 25 years, Jan Garrett has focused on touring the US, and writing and producing 10 albums of original songs with her husband and musical partner JD Martin. Now Jan is relacing back into singing favorite jazz standards and some of her own original songs with local musicians Walter Gorra on piano, Chris Bank on bass and sax, and Paul Valentine on drums.
